After you submit a staff application, you can check on its progress at any time. You'll also receive email notifications whenever your application status changes.
Your application moves through a series of stages as the review team works through it:
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Submitted | Your application has been received and is waiting for review |
| Under Review | A staff reviewer has started looking at your application |
| Interview | You've been selected for an interview -- check your discussions |
| Background Check | Your application has moved to the background check stage |
| Approved | Congratulations -- your application was accepted! |
| Denied | Your application wasn't accepted this time |
| Withdrawn | You chose to withdraw your application |
You'll receive an email at each of these stages so you're never left guessing.
When your application moves to the Interview stage, a discussion thread is created for you to communicate with the review team. You'll find a link to this discussion on your application detail page.
Check your discussions regularly during this stage -- the review team may have questions for you or want to schedule a conversation.
Changed your mind? You can withdraw your application at any point before a final decision is made.
Once withdrawn, the application is final and can't be reopened. If you change your mind later, you'll need to submit a new application.
If your application is approved, you'll see the approval details on your application page, including any conditions (such as a trial period). You'll also be automatically assigned to the staff position -- welcome to the team!
It's okay to be disappointed, but don't let it discourage you. The review team considers many factors, and a denial now doesn't mean you can't apply again in the future. Take some time, stay active in the community, and consider applying again when a position opens up.
