Discord Notifications

What Are Discord Notifications?

If you have a linked Discord account, you can choose to receive certain Lighthouse notifications as Discord direct messages. This is a convenient way to stay in the loop without needing to check your email.

Setting It Up

  1. Make sure you have a linked Discord account
  2. Go to Settings and click Notifications
  3. For each notification type, toggle the Discord DM option on or off

If you don't have a linked Discord account, the Discord DM toggle will be disabled.

What Notifications Can You Receive?

You can choose to receive Discord DMs for:

Type What You'll Get
Ticket Updates Replies and status changes on your support tickets
Account Updates Promotions and other changes to your account
Announcements New community announcements

Each type can be toggled independently, so you can pick exactly which ones you want as Discord messages.

How It Works

When something happens that triggers a notification, the system checks your preferences. If you have Discord DMs enabled for that type, it sends you a direct message through the Lighthouse bot. The message includes a brief description of what happened and a link back to the website for more details.

Discord notifications work alongside your other notification channels -- you can have email and Discord DMs enabled at the same time, or use just one. For more details on all your notification options, see Notification Preferences.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving Discord DMs

Make sure your Discord privacy settings allow direct messages from server members. In Discord, go to Privacy Settings and enable Allow direct messages from server members for the Lighthouse server.

The Discord toggle is grayed out

You need to link a Discord account first. Head to Settings > Discord Account to connect your account.
