You can create a Lighthouse account for your child directly from the Parent Portal:
Your child will receive a welcome email with a link to set their password. The account is linked to yours automatically, so it will appear in your Parent Portal right away.
To update your child's username, email, or date of birth, click the edit button on their card in the Parent Portal. Changes take effect immediately.
Each child's card in the Parent Portal has four permission toggles that give you control over what your child can access:
| Toggle | What It Controls |
|---|---|
| Enable Account | Whether your child can use the website at all. Turning this off immediately and completely restricts their account. Discord access and Minecraft accesses are all removed, as well as preventing usage of the website. |
| Login to Website | Whether your child can log in. Turning this off signs them out of any active sessions right away. They can still access the community through the other methods, but will not have access to the website. |
| Join Minecraft Server | Whether your child can play on the Minecraft server. Turning this off removes them from the server whitelist. |
| Join Discord Server | Whether your child can participate in the Discord server. Turning this off removes their Discord roles, meaning they will only have access to the #foyer channel. |
All toggles take effect immediately -- there's no delay. If you turn something off and later turn it back on, your child's access is restored and everything syncs back up automatically.
When a child account is first created, the default permission settings depend on their age. Younger children start with Minecraft and Discord access turned off, while older children start with everything enabled. You can adjust these settings at any time.
Each child's card also shows:
When your child has reached the age of 17, a Release to Adult button will appear on their card. This permanently dissolves the parent-child link and gives your child full control of their own account. All permission toggles are reset to enabled.
This action cannot be undone, so make sure you're ready before confirming.
