Creating an Account for Your Child

You can create a Lighthouse account for your child directly from the Parent Portal:

1. Open the Parent Portal and click Add Child Account
2. Enter your child's username (their display name in the community), email address, and date of birth
3. Click Create

Your child will receive a welcome email with a link to set their password. The account is linked to yours automatically, so it will appear in your Parent Portal right away.

Editing Account Details

To update your child's username, email, or date of birth, click the edit button on their card in the Parent Portal. Changes take effect immediately.

Permission Toggles

Each child's card in the Parent Portal has four permission toggles that give you control over what your child can access:

All toggles take effect immediately -- there's no delay. If you turn something off and later turn it back on, your child's access is restored and everything syncs back up automatically.

Default Settings

When a child account is first created, the default permission settings depend on their age. Younger children start with Minecraft and Discord access turned off, while older children start with everything enabled. You can adjust these settings at any time.

Viewing Tickets and Discipline Reports

Each child's card also shows:

• Recent Tickets -- The most recent support tickets involving your child, so you can see if they've reached out for help or been contacted by staff
• Discipline Reports -- Any published reports related to your child's behavior in the community. You can click on a report to see the full details, including what happened and what actions were taken

Releasing to an Independent Account

When your child has reached the age of 17, a Release to Adult button will appear on their card. This permanently dissolves the parent-child link and gives your child full control of their own account. All permission toggles are reset to enabled.

This action cannot be undone, so make sure you're ready before confirming.
