If you're a younger member of Lighthouse, your parent or guardian has access to a Parent Portal where they can see and manage parts of your account. This is designed to keep you safe and give your family peace of mind.
Your parent can view:
Your parent has the ability to:
If your parent disables access to something, you'll see a message on your settings page letting you know. You won't be able to use that service until your parent turns it back on.
Before you can link a Minecraft account or get server access, you need to agree to the Lighthouse Community Rules. You can do this yourself by clicking the Read & Accept Rules button on your Dashboard.
Your parent can also agree on your behalf from the Parent Portal -- so you don't have to do this step alone if you'd rather go through it together.
Once the rules are accepted, your account will move to Stowaway status and staff will review your account. You'll be promoted to Traveler once a staff member approves you, which usually happens within a few hours.
If you see a message saying your Minecraft or Discord access has been disabled by your parent, that's something to talk to them about. Staff can't override parental controls -- your parent is the only one who can change those settings.
If you think something is wrong with your account or you need help, you can always open a support ticket and staff will do their best to assist you.
When you're old enough, your parent can choose to release your account to you. This removes the parent-child connection and gives you full, independent control of your account. All restrictions are lifted and your parent will no longer have access to manage your settings.
Until then, your parent is there to help make sure you have a great experience in the Lighthouse community.
