What Are Community Standards?

The Community Standards section of the Policy Manual sets out the behavioral baseline for everyone in Lighthouse. These aren't just rules on paper -- they reflect the kind of community we're actively working to build together.

There are two chapters in this section:

  • Code of Conduct -- The specific behaviors that are required or prohibited in all Lighthouse spaces (the server, Discord, and the website).
  • Community Expectations -- The broader values and culture that Lighthouse expects members to contribute to.

The Short Version

Lighthouse is a faith-based, family-friendly community. That means:

  • Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
  • Keep language and content clean -- children are part of this community.
  • Don't grief, steal, cheat, or harass other players.
  • Disagree graciously -- debate is welcome, cruelty is not.

For the full details, read the Code of Conduct in the Policy Manual.

What Happens If You Break the Rules?

Violations are handled by staff. Depending on the situation, consequences might include a warning, a temporary placement in the Brig, or removal from the community for serious violations.

Staff try to be fair and consider context, but there are some behaviors -- like hate speech or harassment -- where the response is immediate and firm.

New Members

If you're new to Lighthouse, the Community Standards section is worth a quick read before you dive in. Knowing what's expected helps you get settled without surprises, and it makes the community better for everyone.
