Staff members are entrusted with additional permissions and tools to help maintain, protect, and support the Lighthouse community. These permissions exist to serve the community — not for personal use, entertainment, or advantage.
Because of this, staff are held to a higher standard of conduct and accountability.
Staff authority is given for three primary purposes:
At no time should staff authority be used for personal gain, amusement, or to elevate oneself above other members.
Staff permissions and tools must be used responsibly and with clear purpose.
The following are not permitted:
Staff are expected to leave the environment as they found it — stable, fair, and playable for all members.
Lighthouse operates as a survival-based server. Maintaining the integrity of that experience is essential.
Staff may not use Creative mode or administrative tools to introduce blocks, items, or structures that are not obtainable through normal survival gameplay.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Exceptions may only be made for clearly defined and approved purposes (such as spawn areas, infrastructure, or events), and must be:
Staff should avoid creating anything that would cause a reasonable player to question whether the server is truly survival-based.
Staff must exercise their authority with fairness and restraint when interacting with players.
All interactions should reinforce trust, fairness, and consistency within the community.
Limited use of staff abilities outside normal gameplay may be appropriate during planned events or community activities.
These uses must follow clear guidelines:
“Just for fun” is not a sufficient reason to use staff powers.
Staff are expected to model the behavior and standards of the Lighthouse community at all times.
Misuse of staff authority — whether intentional or careless — undermines trust and can negatively impact the entire community.
Violations of this policy may result in:
Staff are accountable to Command and to one another. When mistakes happen, they should be acknowledged and corrected promptly.
When in doubt, ask:
“Does this serve the community, or just me?”
If the answer is unclear, do not proceed.
